The Baton Rouge Area Foundation (BRAF), a catalyst for change in the community, is ready for its next big leap. This summer, BRAF will be relocating to a new sanctuary of opportunity within the dynamic ambience of downtown Baton Rouge, according to Baton Rouge Business Report.
Expanding Horizons for Greater Impact
Having outgrown its current abode at 100 North Street, BRAF will soon call the Rivermark Centre at the intersection of Florida and 4th Streets its new home. The move, anticipated in August, highlights a thoughtfully designed space spanning approximately 17,000 square feet within the recently renovated Rivermark I building.
Breathing Life Into New Spaces
Inside the state-of-the-art facility, expectations are set for a seamless amalgamation of expansive meeting areas tailored for community gatherings, innovative collaboration spaces, and ample accommodations for BRAF’s rapidly expanding team, which has seen a remarkable 30% growth trajectory over the past two years.
A Strategic Move Aligned with Visionary Plans
Brenna Benson Lamb, BRAF’s COO, expressed that this relocation is deeply aligned with BRAF’s strategic foresight to broaden resources and improve service delivery to the community. “Transitioning to a new office will provide our talented staff with the space they need to work effectively and foster impactful collaboration,” Lamb stated.
Tying In with the City’s Visionary Developments
In conjunction with the diligent efforts for the upcoming Plan Baton Rouge III—a visionary master plan aimed at breathing new energy into the downtown area—BRAF’s move marks a significant stride forward. Chris Meyer, CEO and President of BRAF, accentuated that this relocation allows for the introduction of flexible, multi-functional event spaces, a first for the organization.
Building on a Legacy of Progressive Moves
Reflecting on BRAF’s history of thoughtful relocations, this move resonates as another carefully weighted decision following its consecutive transitions over the past decades. Notable past locations include its former headquarters at Fourth Street and the powerful presence at the IBM building. Each move has built upon BRAF’s commitment to staying technologically advanced and deeply seated within Baton Rouge’s economic heartland.
In an ever-evolving urban landscape, BRAF’s bold step to Rivermark Centre promises not just to cater to its growing needs but also to continue nurturing Baton Rouge’s vibrant nonprofit and community sectors.
